The Economic Committee of the Council of Ministers announced Tuesday that it has taken a number of decisions to protect the national product and to move towards the use of gas in the cement industry .
The Committee said in a statement received "Trend Press" a copy of it "decided to form a committee headed by the Ministry of Planning and a number of ministries and other government agencies and representatives of the private sector to identify products manufactured locally and covering the market need to issue a decision to prevent the import of those materials for six months and Review within thirty days, "noting that" this decision comes within the framework of the government's intentions to protect the national product and strengthen the economy . "
The Committee added that "the Committee confirmed the control measures to impose customs duties," calling on "the National Investment Commission to resolve the fate of investment licenses granted by it or investment bodies in the provinces and in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Minerals ."
The committee also pointed out that "it also decided to move towards granting investment licenses in the field of cement using the gas product and dispensing with black oil, and recommended the Ministry of Industry and Minerals to prepare a technical and economic feasibility study on the use of black oil in the production of bricks in government laboratories and private sector laboratories, "The establishment of the committee formed in the Ministries of Industry and Minerals and the Federation of Iraqi Industries to make recommendations to accelerate the provision of gas to the laboratories of the newly built blocks ."
The ministerial economic affairs committee includes the ministers of finance, oil, industry, minerals and agriculture, as well as the governor of the Central Bank, the head of the National Investment Authority, the economic adviser to the prime minister and agents of the ministries of planning and trade .
