[rtl]Hundreds of settlers stormed the Tomb of Joseph and Tal Balata in the northern West Bank city of Nablus on Wednesday, under strict Israeli security protection, to perform their religious rituals.[/rtl]

[rtl]Settlers' Web sites reported that some 1,300 settlers, including a number of senior rabbis, took part in the storming of Joseph's Tomb to participate in the so-called "Nablus Conference". For the first time, the site of Tal Balata, which includes the city of Shechem, was attacked.[/rtl]

[rtl]Dozens of vehicles belonging to the Israeli occupation forces broke into the eastern region late last night, in preparation for the storming of settlers to the area.[/rtl]

[rtl]Confrontations broke out between them and dozens of Palestinian youths who closed roads with burning tires. Scores of infantry soldiers deployed in the surrounding streets, ambushed the roadblocks and arrested one of the youths.[/rtl]

[rtl]The confrontations centered on Amman Street and Al-Hesba Street and at the northern entrance to the Balata refugee camp. The youths used stones and Molotov cocktails, while the soldiers fired bullets, sound bombs and gas.[/rtl]

[rtl]The Nablus Municipality firefighter said her crew had been rescued and a family evacuated after the Israeli occupation threw a gas bomb at her house on Amman Street.[/rtl]

[rtl]After midnight, hundreds of settlers arrived by means of about 20 large buses and a number of vehicles, accompanied by Israeli patrols, and performed Talmudic rituals with singing and dancing.[/rtl]
