Assistant General Manager of the General Company for Cement, the director of the Southern Cement Aid, Mohammad Hassan Naji, on Thursday, called on the government, decision makers and the concerned parties to review and reconsider the prices of selling the black oil needed by the company in operating the plants and the electrical stations belonging to it.
"The sudden rise in the price of selling black oil to (150) dinars per liter will lead to an increase in production costs, which negatively affects the performance, productivity and plans of the company and its financial indicators for 2018, and the reflection on the support of the citizen," Naji said in a statement received by " Reducing cement selling prices. "
He added that "production costs are distributed mainly on oil by (40%) in addition to the cadre and electricity," appealing to the government and the concerned parties to "reduce the selling price of black oil to support the cement factories and cement production in Iraq."
Naji pointed out that "the southern cement workers of the Iraqi General Company for Cement, which includes (8) plants distributed in the provinces of Najaf, Karbala, Muthanna, Babil and Basra achieved its plan for 2017 with the increase in production quantities from the plan and the rate of development (27%) compared to 2016 and it is determined To implement its plan prepared for the year 2018 by raising its production cards and achieving high rates of development up to (165%) with commitment to agreed cement prices of (90) thousand acres after the implementation of resolution (409) for the year 2015, which contributed significantly to stimulate and encourage laboratories to achieve Self-sufficiency of cement ".
He expressed the hope that "this year will witness a boom in the reconstruction and construction of the country to consume all quantities of cement in the factories of the government company and investors and private sector laboratories," stressing that "the Iraqi Company for Cement continues its efforts and work to rehabilitate and operate its plants in liberated cities and put production To the domestic market.
