The General Director of the Iraqi Cement Company Hussein Al-Khafaji said that the increase in the price of black oil supplied to the cement plants will cause a large loss of 25 billion dinars annually, as it will add the cost of production (15%) on the price of tons after raising the price of liters from (100) Dinars per liter.
Al-Khafaji said in an interview with "Economy News" that the previous price was 25% of the cost of production and the new price will raise the cost to 40% and the total cost of black oil will be 75 billion dinars annually. Million liters per year of black oil.
He added that it was a big cost and confused the work and plans for the cement plants, public and private sectors, including the provision of cement subsidized to the liberated provinces and reduce costs to reach the most appropriate prices.
Al-Khafaji called on all parties responsible to stand firm to protect the cement product by rejecting the decision of the Ministry of Oil to raise the prices of black oil to serve citizens, construction companies, state projects and cement factories, all of which serve the local economy.
Al-Khafaji stressed the need to maintain the decision of the Iraqi Council of Ministers No. (409) to ban the import of cement, which achieved unprecedented success by stopping the depletion of the currency that was wasting on the import of cement before the implementation of the resolution beginning in 2016, USD Cement from neighboring countries, has returned granting investment license to Cement Company Khuzestan by the investment authority of Maysan province in violation of the decision of the Council of Ministers because the decision provides for not to establish any investment project for cement plants in Iraq, unless the plant is integrated.
He pointed out that the province of Maysan granted permission to set up a cement factory for an Iranian company that is not integrated because it imports the semi-factory cement (clinker) and the factory only grinds it and sells it. This is contrary to resolution (409), which is a door to re-import again and return to waste millions of dollars. Cement in Iraq, which uses raw materials locally (100%).

He pointed out that the Iraqi cement company has refused to set up this project and addressed the concerned parties with official books, and renewed Khafaji rejection of the establishment of such projects in addition to his refusal to import the article (clinker) from any country was the half material made of cement and cement plants in the country, The full capacity to provide them and the provision of cement for the entire manufacturing of all Iraqi provinces and this has proved for the second year in a row in the need for the most appropriate prices and the best types.
