Prime Minister Haider Abadi, on Tuesday, that the deduction in the salaries of employees and retirees in accordance with the Council of Representatives and the government has no connection to this measure, while referring to the possibility of lifting by the Parliament being a prerogative.

"The current deduction of salaries of employees and retirees of 3.8 was proposed by the House of Representatives in 2016 and was applied in the budget of 2017," Abbadi said during a weekly press conference held in Baghdad and attended by the Agency / Information.
He added that "the government rejected these deductions, but the members of the Council insisted on their inclusion," pointing out that "the House of Representatives has the right to lift it of the budget provided that the revenues raised by them in the budget, and this measure of their powers."
