     The White House supports Israel on the backdrop of the incident on the Syrian border, a spokeswoman for US President Sarah Sanders said.

    "We call on Iran and its allies to stop provocative actions and work for peace in the region," Sanders said in a statement, a strong ally of the United States. "We support its right to defend itself from Iranian-backed militias and Syrian forces in southern Syria."

    An Israeli F-16 warplane landed in the area between the cities of Haifa and Nazareth after it was targeted by the Syrian ground defenses after the Israeli Air Force targeted an unmanned drone that claimed to be Iranian and penetrated Israeli airspace at the occupied Syrian Golan Heights .

     

    The Israeli warplanes returned and raided 12 sites inside Syria claimed by the Israeli military spokesman that they belong to the Syrian army and Iranian militias that support him.

     

    Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in response to the shooting down of the Israeli warplanes by Syrian anti-aircraft fire and the response of the air force to bomb sites inside Syria, said that Israel has the right to defend itself against any violation of Israeli sovereignty. Any Iranian attempt to be militarily stationed in Syria or anywhere else.

     

    The State Department also considered the recent events on the Israeli-Syrian border, which followed Israel's announcement that an Iranian aircraft was shot down and penetrated Israeli airspace from Syria, as a deliberate Iranian escalation.
