The social networking sites were rife with the horrific incident that took place inside an American high school in Florida.
The media also published the first photographs of the 19-year-old man who committed the horrific massacre, killing 17 people and dozens of others.
The shooter, identified as Nicolaus Cruz, born in September 1998, who considered his publications on social media as "extremely disturbing", was arrested and his crime was committed using a semi-automatic R-15 rifle.
Broward County Police Chief Scott Israel said: "The gunman was Nicolaus Cruz and was a school pupil but he was dismissed for unspecified disciplinary reasons."
The police commander said the gunman surrendered to the police without resistance. Investigators believe he was armed with an AR-15 rifle with several ammunition boxes. "It's a disaster," he said. "I'm speechless."
He said that 12 of the dead were killed inside the school, while two were killed directly outside, and one person died in the street, and two of the victims died of injuries in a hospital, and continued the victims between students and adults.
In turn the supervisor of Broward County Schools, Robert Ronsy said: "It's a terrible situation."
