Japan's Foreign Ministry has officially protested over a chunk of chocolate, which will be presented at the summit of the two Koreas.

Japanese officials have expressed dissatisfaction with the chocolate depicting the disputed Liancourt islands, which the Japanese call Takeshima, according to the agency " SCMP ".

South Korean President Moon Jae-en is scheduled to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on April 27. Among the sweets to be presented at the meeting is a piece of chocolate with Korean Peninsula flag with the Liancourt Islands.

The islands were under South Korean rule after World War II, but Japan has resisted for several years.

The press service of the Japanese Foreign Ministry demanded that the South Korean side give up the candy or at least remove the islands from the flag.

Japan expressed dissatisfaction with South Korean food in 2017 during US President Donald Trump's visit, where seafood was served in the Liancourt Islands.
