(Xinhua) - Iraq on Sunday issued its position on a meeting between North and South leaders recently.
"We welcome the historic meeting that brought together the North and South Korean leaders and resulted in the signing of a peace agreement between the two neighbors," Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmad Mahjoub said in a statement to the news agency.
"We hope that the two sides can take steps that will contribute to enhancing security and stability on the Korean Peninsula and the world, and we are confident that understanding and reconciliation is the basis for establishing peace and we hope that the conflicts in the world will end and lead to dialogue that establishes international security," he said.
