South Korea's Daleem Industriel has canceled a $ 2 billion deal with Iran that was signed a year ago on the construction of an oil refinery in Isfahan, Radio Varda reported.

The company said that the main reason for the cancellation of its contract with Tehran is the inability of the Iranian side to finance the costs of implementing the project to develop the refinery Isfahan oil, which resulted from the re-imposition of economic sanctions against Iran.

South Korea's Daelem won a $ 2.08 billion contract for the construction, improvement and development of the Isfahan oil refinery, which was described by Iranian news agencies at the time as the largest project to be undertaken by a South Korean company in Iran.

The production capacity of the refinery Isfahan oil 375 thousand barrels per day, and now supply about 22? Of Iran's oil production.

South Korea's Dilim announced last winter that it would complete the refinery development project by the end of 2020. But after the US withdrawal from the nuclear deal and the re-imposition of sanctions against Iran, the company decided to cancel the contract.

The cancellation of the South Korean company is not the only economic project that has been canceled recently. The Wall Street Journal reported that General Electric would close its offices in Iran and prevent the sale of oil and gas related equipment to Iran in the coming months.

It is also noteworthy that the fourth of November is the deadline for the United States to return the harsh sanctions against Iran.
