MOSCOW - Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the expanded session of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in China that the countries most involved in the fight against terrorism are in Syria.
"Thanks to coordinated action by Russia, the Syrian government, Iran, Turkey and some other partners, including Kazakhstan, we have been able to suppress terrorist activity to a large extent in the Syrian state," Vladimir Putin said.
Putin stressed the importance of combating terrorism as a priority in the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and urged the international community to give special attention to the situation in Afghanistan.[/ltr]
