WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States and its allies are considering using their stockpiled strategic oil reserves to boost oil supply in the markets and curb rising crude prices in the markets, US media reported on Monday.
The Wall Street Journal quoted a source as saying that the administration of US President Donald Trump was discussing the move to prevent a new jump in oil prices.
For its part, Tehran called on the US President not to use reserves to influence prices, instead, asked Washington to lift sanctions on Iranian oil exports, according to the agency "Bloomberg."
The US president has repeatedly accused the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries of being behind the rise in oil prices and asked it to take action to push prices down. Ending / 25
