    Many people believe that war is the only thing, which leads to the killing of millions of people, but new statistics revealed that there are other weapons were the cause of the killing of 6.5 million people in 15 countries, one Arab state. 

    A study by researchers at the University of Washington, Washington, that light weapons (guns and pistols), was responsible for the outbreak of violence in many areas around the world for hundreds of years, according to the magazine "Economist" British.

    The study found that 2016 witnessed the death of 250 thousand people by guns and pistols, without war or the police forces any role in those incidents, referring to the number, who fell between 1990 and 2016 about 6.5 million people. 

    The 15 countries account for only 35 percent of the world's population, with up to 75 percent of the violence that leads to casualties, according to the study, which indicated that India saw 26,000 people fall in 2016. 

    The Americas South and South America are among the countries whose citizens suffer from violence due to the use of light firearms, especially El Salvador, Guatemala and Venezuela , and in those countries 30 per 100,000 people die on average.

    According to the study, the number of suicide bombers with firearms in America is double the number of people killed by others, while Germany , For example, 100 assassinations in 2016 compared to 1,000 suicide with a firearm. 

    Brazil is ranked first in firearms violence, followed by America, India, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, the Philippines, Guatemala, Russia, and Afghanistan, ranked No. 10. 

    Thailand is ranked Eleventh, followed by South Africa, Ethiopia, Iraq , and Argentina. 

    Iraq is the only Arab country on the list.
