Hamid: the end of the crisis of salinity drinking water in Basra

The Basra provincial council confirmed on Tuesday the end of the crisis of salinity of drinking water after the amount of heavy rain throughout the country.
Council member Ghanem Hamid said in a press statement that "the amount of rain that fell across the country ended the crisis of water salinity in the Shatt al-Arab during the current season."
He added that "the next summer will not see any crisis in water scarcity as in previous years," noting that "the Ministry of Water Resources promised to continue large water releases during the summer to push any saline coming from the Gulf towards Basra."
