BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraqi National Congress Party (NCP) Secretary-General Aras Habib said Sunday that the overriding national interest forces others to deal with us as a sovereign state.
"Iraq is acting in regional and international forums in terms of its obligations as an active member of the international community," Habib said in a statement. "Iraq must be present in regional forums regardless of prejudices."
He pointed out that "the superiority of national interest is the guarantee to take balanced positions that force others to deal with us as a sovereign state and not have its representatives abroad."
