, the parliamentary Education Committee returned the draft amendment to the first law of the Ministry of Education to the government for its incompatibility with the contexts of the government program, pointing out that the government program works to maximize state revenues while the law exempts private institutions from customs tariffs for imports by 25 percent.
The committee's chairman, Qusay Mohsen al-Yaseri, said that his committee "objected to the first draft amendment to the law of the Ministry of Education to ensure that the educational institutions are exempted from customs materials and equipment by 25 percent."
Al-Yasiri said that "this exemption is not commensurate with the content of the government program to maximize state revenues and the need not only oil as a single source of the budget," pointing out that "the next legislative chapter will see the reading and passing a number of important laws that concern education, which aims to improve the educational and educational reality in Iraq".
Committee member Manal Moussawi attributed the committee's objection to the draft amendment for "violating the government program that emphasized the diversification of income sources."
