{Baghdad: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Health and Environment announced, on Sunday evening, that it had recorded 6 new infections in the country with the Corona virus, bringing the total number of cases to more than 67, in addition to imposing a quarantine on a southern village.
And the Ministry of Health in the Kurdistan region {northern Iraq} said in a statement that it was confirmed that 3 people were infected with the Corona virus, two of them in Erbil and the third in Sulaimaniyah.
While the Karbala Health Directorate confirmed in a statement, it had discovered a new case of a man working in a health center who had been infected by a woman who had died from the virus two days earlier.
Diyala also recorded a new confirmed infection, according to a brief statement issued by the provincial health directorate, as well as a case in both the provinces of Muthanna, Anbar, and Dhi Qar.
In a related context, the Governor of Maysan Ali Dawai, on Sunday, ordered the imposition of home quarantine on one of the affiliated villages, and the granting of employees in government institutions within the region compulsory leave, after the death of an injured person.
The village of Abu Jusanah is the first area in Iraq to impose on its residents a home quarantine.
The governor decided, according to a statement, "to send a force by the Maysan Police Command to the peace area to support and support the measures taken."
Iraq has taken extensive measures to contain the spread of the virus, including the suspension of schools and universities until March 21, as well as the closure of public places such as parks, cafes and cinemas.
Iraq also banned foreign arrivals from 11 countries, and prevented its citizens from traveling to China, Iran, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Italy, Kuwait, Bahrain, France, and Spain, until further notice, except for official delegations and diplomatic bodies.
As of Sunday evening, the virus has infected more than 109,000 worldwide in 104 countries and territories, of whom more than 3,800 have died, most of them in China, South Korea, Iran and Italy, and has led to the suspension of Umrah, flights, and postponement or cancellation of sporting, political, and economic activities around the world, amid Accelerated efforts to contain the disease,
