The Iraqi political researcher, Raed Al-Azzawi, responded today, Monday, to the Egyptian MP, Muhammad Zain Al-Din, who spoke about the presence of Egyptian workers detained in Iraq.
Al-Azzawi, who is residing in Egypt, told RT, that he "contacted the Egyptian MP and explained to him that the Egyptian workers who spoke about them traveled on their personal responsibility, and the Iraqi and Egyptian governments were not aware or aware of them."
He added, "There are Egyptian laws governing the work and travel of workers outside Egypt and require notifying the Ministry of Manpower for any Egyptian citizen to travel to work outside it.
Al-Azzawi added, "I explained to MP Zain al-Din that the Iraqi government is taking all means to restore the right of Egyptian citizens, and that the Embassy of the Republic of Egypt in Iraq has been working for three months with the official Iraqi authorities to legalize the status of workers."

Earlier in the day, the Egyptian MP, Muhammad Abdullah Zain Al-Din, stated that 43 Egyptians have faced a major crisis in Iraq, presenting an urgent statement to the government, to act to save them.
