The President of the Kurdistan Regional Government receives the US ambassador to Iraq

Today, Monday, April 12, 2021, the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, received the United States Ambassador to Iraq Matthew Tueller.
During the meeting, which was attended by the US Consul General in Erbil, Rob Waller, they discussed the latest developments in the situation in Iraq and the relations between the Kurdistan Region and the United States.
The US ambassador to Iraq highlighted the strategic dialogue between the United States and Iraq, and indicated that his country will continue to support the Iraqi army and the Peshmerga to confront ISIS threats within the framework of the international coalition forces.
The US ambassador praised the reforms being undertaken by the Kurdistan Regional Government, especially the reform steps taken by the Ministry of Peshmerga.
The Prime Minister thanked the US ambassador for his efforts in approving the federal budget law, and affirmed the commitment of the Kurdistan Regional Government to implement the budget law. He also called on the federal government to carry out its duties towards the Kurdistan Region within the framework of the General Budget Law.
