    {Baghdad: Al Furat News} Today, Sunday, the Election Commission announced that it will continue the process of distributing the biometric voter card in all registration centers, while affirming the right of the voter who has the electronic card (long-term and short-term) to participate in voting.

    The Commission stated in a statement that the Euphrates News received a copy of it, that it “continues the process of distributing the biometric voter card in all registration centers, and printing cards for voters who updated their data during the update phase, whose number at the end of the update period reached (1,733,030) voters who updated their data. Among them are the displaced voters, who numbered (27,771) voters, in coordination with the Spanish company Andhra, in charge of printing the voter biometric card.
    The commission indicated that, "according to Elections Law No. 9 of 2020, a voter who possesses a short-term or long-term biometric card has the right to participate in voting to elect the Iraqi parliament in 2021."
    The statement pointed out that "
    The Electoral Commission stated that it “is still continuing to receive the registration of political alliances and receive lists of individual candidates until 1/5/2021”.
    According to the commission, the number of individual candidates reached (847) candidates, including (6) candidates from the Yazidi component, (8) others from the Sabian-Mandaean component, (12) candidates from the Kurdish Faili component, and (16) candidates from the Christian component. And (2) a candidate from the network component. Including (357) candidates from political parties, and (22) candidates from political alliances. 
    Regarding political alliances, the Commission confirmed that “(13) political coalitions expressed their desire to participate in the upcoming elections out of (33) political coalitions ratified, and (13) coalitions are under registration.”
    The Commission announced the continuation of the registration process for political parties and organizations, while it indicated granting a license to establish (264) political parties, and the number of registration requests for parties that are in the process of incorporation reached about (55), while the number of requests from parties that expressed their desire to participate in The upcoming parliamentary elections (122) parties.
    The Commission affirmed that it attaches great importance to the process of interrupting the fingerprints of all voting voters on polling day (public and private) who own electronic and biometric cards (short and long-term), in order to ensure that the voter's vote is not repeated more than once, and takes place within the legally stipulated period and before ratification. According to the final results, the matching takes place at several levels, including: (Iraq, the governorate, and the electoral district). Legal measures will be taken against the violator.
