The Parliamentary Legal Committee confirmed, on Wednesday, that reforms and anti-corruption cannot be carried out unless weapons are confined to the hands of the state.
Committee member Bahar Mahmoud said in a statement to the official newspaper, that "the government's steps in combating corruption are slow," indicating that "any prime minister is not able to undertake reform and fight corruption, except after restricting weapons to the state."
She added, "Corruption is involved in all the joints of the state, so fighting it is not an easy task."
Mahmoud indicated that "it is not possible for an electoral cycle and a single government cabinet to do this, because this file depends on a series of steps that must be followed and completed in stages." Ended 29/4
