{Local: Al Furat News} The Parliamentary Legal Committee revealed that, reforms and combating corruption can only be carried out after arms are confined to the hands of the state.
Committee member Bahar Mahmoud said in a press statement, "The government's steps in combating corruption are slow," indicating that "any prime minister is not able to undertake reform and fight corruption, except after restricting weapons to the hands of the state."
She added, "Corruption is involved in all the joints of the state, so fighting it is not an easy task."
It indicated that "it is not possible for an electoral cycle and a single government cabinet to do this, because this file depends on a series of steps that must be followed and completed in stages."
She pointed out that "steps to combat corruption are slow, despite the presence of the intention for reform."
