Today, Saturday, the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, called for fighting political money and curbing corruption.
Saleh said in a speech during the fourth annual conference of civil society organizations, which was followed by the National News Center, that “holding the elections on time is a national entitlement and a popular demand,” calling for “community mobilization to participate in the elections.”
He added, "The desired reform is everyone's responsibility," stressing that "appealing to the people is the solution to face economic and security challenges."
He stressed, "the necessity to proceed with real reforms to bridge the gap with the people," calling for "fighting political money and curbing corruption."
He expressed his "aspiration to cooperate with the House of Representatives on combating corruption," calling on the political forces to "arbitrate the language of reason and give priority to the national interest to overcome crises."
