Today, Tuesday, the Ministry of Industry and Minerals announced the mechanism
and conditions for applying to the graduate employment initiative, indicating that there are efforts by several banking branches, including the Central Bank, to grant soft loans to graduates applying for the youth employment project.
The Director General of Industrial Development in the Ministry, Aziz Nazim, said in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency and followed by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "the initiative was launched based on the directives of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals and the blessing of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, part of which included youth employment," noting that "the Directorate is working on Granting licenses to graduates at nominal prices for their fees, and then implementing according to several axes.
He continued, "The first axis is the provinces, and we worked on it until the end of last week, when we had several meetings with the governors of Diyala, Nasiriyah, Baghdad and Mosul, and they got acquainted with the initiative, and it was on their part to promote the youth."
He pointed out that "there is coordination with the companies of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, to provide land, as the problem we have is to provide the land on which the project is located," noting that "the factories do not contain spaces to provide land for young graduates, but there are individual cases."
He explained that "the number of applicants for the initiative reaches 125, and work is underway to grant licenses to their projects, small or below medium," noting that "the identities of the projects focus on the food activity, where food activity approvals are easy, such as food commodities, including detergents, but in a small way such as soap and so on. ".
And he indicated that "the initiative includes graduates on the condition that they open their own factories that can be developed, and it is not related to their appointment in state departments, but on the contrary, it is another alternative way to appointment that is compatible with the plan of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in employing youth," noting that "the application mechanism is very simple." By opening a special form for a symbolic fee, and then there will be communications to the local government to provide the land, and we allow the graduate to be with the project financier in order to assist him.
He added, "The governorates of Basra and Diyala pledged to provide land, and it will be divided into an area of 100 meters for graduates only, and it will be an industrial complex," explaining that "there is an initiative for the Central Bank of Iraq, in addition to the plan of the Ministry of Finance and the Industrial Bank, to approve granting graduate loans in return for reduced interest." .
