The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Naim Al-Ghazi, discussed, on Wednesday, the mechanism for providing banking facilities to grant loans without interest or reduced interest.
A statement by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, a copy of which was received by Mawazine News, stated that this measure comes from the Iraqi government's direction to support the private sector and encourage citizens to establish small, medium and large projects.
Al-Ghazi stressed, during his presidency of the meeting to discuss the agenda of the committee concerned with granting loans for the initiative of the Central Bank, the need to take into account the implementation of tourism and entertainment projects, especially in the governorates that attract visitors, especially those witnessing religious and archaeological tourism, and the support of the private sector by Governmental banks, by granting loans of up to (100) million dinars, according to the regulations and instructions announced by the Central Bank.
According to the statement, Al-Ghazi stressed the need to support the educational sector, by granting loans for building housing complexes through investment, by granting teaching and educational staff in the governorates that have distributed residential plots, which will contribute to the establishment of modern and developed cities where all services are available.
He directed the formation of a working group headed by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, including representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank, and government banks, to set controls and mechanisms that contribute to simplifying the procedures for granting loans to citizens.
