Shafaq News/ The Iraqi Parliament's Services and Reconstruction Committee revealed today, Saturday, that the country has lost millions of dollars due to an "oil pipeline" in Basra Governorate, the far south of Iraq.
Committee member Hassan Al-Zerjawi told Shafaq News Agency, "Jordan is working and striving to obtain Iraqi oil at very low prices, and then it sells this oil, including to the Zionist entity (Israel)," stressing, "It is not possible to accept and remain silent over The arrival of Iraqi oil to Israel under any title."
Al-Zirjawi indicated that "the government of Mustafa Al-Kazemi, wants and also works to support the Jordanian economy at the expense of the economy and interest of Iraq and the Iraqis," noting that "it wants to extend a pipeline from Basra Governorate to the Jordanian Aqaba, and this costs Iraq millions of dollars in losses."
He added, "This matter is tainted by many suspicions of corruption and others," stressing, "We will confront this project, and we will not accept any project that causes economic harm to Iraq and the Iraqis."
And the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on June 27, 2021, hosted a tripartite summit between Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, and King Abdullah II of Jordan, punctuated by the signing of memorandums of understanding and contracts, which came as a continuation of two summits that were held in earlier times in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, and the capital Jordan Amman.
