The Doctors Syndicate confirmed, on Saturday, that its law includes inspection committees in support of the Health Insurance Law and other inspection committees to monitor the high prices of medical examinations, as well as disciplinary committees that deal with complaints against doctors extorting patients.
The head of the Doctors Syndicate, Jassem Al-Azzawi, said, according to the official newspaper, that "there is an inspection committee for every Iraqi governorate, which is the committee to supervise the clinics, and it exercises its work on an ongoing basis and follows up on the complaints that it receives, as well as dealing with complaints against doctors who exploit patients by surveying citizens about the prices of scouts or abuse of the profession." He was dealing with any other party, so the committee relies on any complaint submitted by citizens to give it the legal right to pursue it.”
And he indicated that "the Doctors Law established a disciplinary committee that includes (11 articles) to support it and to prevent any extortion and abuse of morals and the profession. It includes simple administrative penalties, fines, and exclusion from practicing the profession for a period of 6 months or a year until the removal from the clinic, and there are many doctors who were punished through this law." And regarding the health insurance law.
” Al-Azzawi pointed out that it “represents a fundamental pillar and a positive step on the road to improving the provision of health services to citizens by registering citizens at certain stages through the Health Insurance Fund.

He added that "the law is within the doctors' contract with the Social Security Fund, and when citizens visit their clinics, they sign their card and the doctors receive their examinations from the health insurance, and it will eliminate the exploitation of the patient and high scouts and send him to specific laboratories and examinations, and the guarantee evaluates the amounts paid to the doctor."
