An Iraqi-Turkish memorandum of understanding to curb money laundering
Shafaq News/ The Central Bank of Iraq announced today, Tuesday, that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Turkish "Masak" regarding suspicious financial operations and money laundering.
The bank said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, "Based on the cooperation between the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Office in Iraq and similar units in other countries, the office has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Turkish Financial Information Unit Masak," noting that "the memorandum will facilitate Exchange of information with the Turkish side regarding suspicious financial operations.
He added that "the memorandum will also work to reduce money laundering and terrorist financing operations," pointing to "the need for concerted international efforts to confront these crimes and combat their emerging methods."
