Legal expert Dr. Raqiah Al-Khazali confirmed, on Wednesday, that the Federal Supreme Court's decision that the oil and gas law in the Kurdistan Regional Government is unconstitutional has important economic and political gains.
Khazali said in a statement to the "Information" agency, "The Federal Supreme Court's decision that the gas and oil law for the Kurdistan region is unconstitutional has important economic and political gains, and the coordination framework must win them and try to benefit from it politically."
And she added, "The decisions of the Federal Supreme Court are golden keys, for everyone who is able to use them and open the closed doors for them during the next political stage."
She noted that "the forces of the coordination framework should benefit from the decisions of the Federal Court and not be satisfied with monitoring in order to find new understandings regarding the formation of the next government."
Yesterday, Tuesday, the Federal Supreme Court issued a ruling declaring the unconstitutionality of the Oil and Gas Law of the Kurdistan Regional Government, issued in 2007, and its abolition for violating the provisions of constitutional articles, as well as obligating the region to hand over oil production to the federal government.
