    The victory coalition presented, on Wednesday, a proposal to the government to end the problem of high prices, and while he considered the ration card a guarantee to prevent merchants from manipulating local prices, he indicated that distributing it to citizens on a continuous basis on a monthly basis maintains prices.
    A member of the coalition, Aqeel Al-Rudaini, said in a statement to the "Information" agency, that "the government and the Ministry of Commerce were a major reason for the price hike process, as they did not commit to distributing the ration card on a monthly basis and on an ongoing basis, which allowed merchants to control sales operations as a result of the great demand for basic materials." .
    He added that "the most important reasons for the rise in food prices came as a result of the policies of the Ministry of Commerce, which gave merchants a reason to manipulate prices after delaying the distribution of ration card items."
    He pointed out that "distributing all ration card materials continuously from now on to citizens contributes to gradually reducing prices, which is a good plan to preserve the markets."
    In recent days, the country's markets witnessed a significant increase in the prices of foodstuffs, especially basic ones, with some traders exploiting the matter to achieve large financial profits.
