Today, Wednesday, Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi called for the speedy settlement of the procedures for converting Halabja into a governorate.
Al-Halbousi said in a tweet to him via his Twitter account, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "We stand in honor of the innocent souls who fell victim to the Halabja massacre, recalling the struggle, patience and sacrifices of our Kurdish people."
Al-Halbousi called for "accelerating the procedures necessary to transform it into a province in honor of its martyrs and people."
