A joint statement by the Sovereignty Alliance and the Democratic Party declaring adherence to "save the homeland"
Shafaq News / The Sovereignty Alliance and the Kurdistan Democratic Party announced, on Friday, their adherence to the "Save the Homeland" alliance, and the continuation of partnership with the Sadrist bloc, hours after al-Sadr's decision to withdraw from the government formation movement, and gave the coordination framework an opportunity to do so.
Al-Sadr’s position came after the Iraqi parliament failed for the third time in a row to hold a session to elect a new president for the country due to the intensification of the dispute between the Triple Alliance (the Sadrist bloc, the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the Alliance of Sovereignty), and the coordinating framework that includes Shiite political forces.
And the joint statement of Sovereignty and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, which was received by Shafaq News Agency, said, "We value Al-Sadr's position and his initiative towards accelerating the formation of a strong government that works to address the complex files facing the Iraqi people."
The two parties affirmed, according to the statement, "adherence to the partnership with the Sadrist bloc, because it is not possible for a strong government to be born without their partnership," declaring at the same time their adherence to the "Coalition to Save the Nation as the hope awaited by Iraqis."
The two poles of the Save the Homeland Alliance expressed their keenness on the "constructive national dialogue with everyone away from external interference in order to bring the country to safety, as well as on the understanding and agreement of the Shiite house to nominate the Sadrist bloc's candidate and the country's realities and prime ministers and the presidential election program will be approved by him." with the support of the basic components and forces.
