Shafaq News/ The prices of cryptocurrencies declined today, Wednesday, as most of them witnessed a decline of less than 1%, while awaiting the results of the US Federal Reserve meeting.
Investors are awaiting the results of the Federal Reserve (US Central Bank) meeting, which is expected to increase interest rates by 0.5%.
The market value of cryptocurrencies fell this morning, Wednesday, by 0.58% to reach $1.72 trillion, with cash flows during the last 24 hours amounting to $73.35 billion.
US billionaire Warren Buffett, president of Berkshire Hathaway, attacked Bitcoin, saying "it is not a productive asset and does not produce anything tangible. Despite the shift in public perception about digital currency, Buffett still does not buy it."
"Whether it goes up or down next year, or five or 10 years, I don't know. The only thing I'm absolutely sure of is that it doesn't produce anything," Buffett said. "It has magic and people have associated magic with many things."
He continued, “Even Bitcoin enthusiasts tend to view the digital currency as a passive asset that investors buy and hold and hope to see increase in price over a long period. Buffett himself commented that “nobody” lacks Bitcoin, everyone owns a currency for the long term.”
