    Yes Iraq: Baghdad

The two hottest Iraqi provinces (Basra and Nasiriyah) have been witnessing continuous demonstrations for days, organized by different groups, led by the owners of contracts in the oil companies who are required to install after excluding the fixation of contracts from the emergency food support law, while the demonstrations witnessed the setting fire of tires and blocking roads, these demonstrations coincide with The political blockage in the country has eased, amid fears that these demonstrations will extend and branch out to become “general” and turn into something similar to what happened in 2019.
In Dhi Qar, dozens of oil company contracts organized a protest in front of the branch of the Oil Pipelines Company to demand installation on the permanent owners.
One of the demonstrators said that they are asking the General Secretariat to exempt them from the provisions of the Emergency Food Security Support Law and to establish them, indicating that they will continue to escalate the protests until their demands are met.
In Basra, the contract employees in the oil companies cut off the international road in the province because they were not installed on the permanent owners, even though they fulfilled all the conditions necessary for installation.

These angry demonstrations coincide with the continuation of the political blockage and its tightening, especially with the preparation of the Sadrist movement’s leader Muqtada al-Sadr for the resignations of his deputies, putting the political blocs between two options, either accepting al-Sadr’s opposition and going towards forming a government, or his representatives resign from Parliament, leaving 73 seats for other political forces to be filled. Compensating them among the top losers in the electoral districts, and thus the Sadrist movement is completely absent from the executive and legislative authorities, which is not acceptable to other political blocs because they know that “Al-Sadr’s absence from the political process means the fall of the political process and the government within months through the demonstrations,” as observers and specialists say. .

With the heated position of al-Sadr, and the heat of the street, which has many demands, most of which depend on approving the budget, which cannot be approved without forming the government, there are fears that the current embers of factional demonstrations will extend, turning into the nucleus of larger protests, especially since the October 2019 demonstrations had started. From the protests of the holders of higher degrees, who were beaten and insulted at the time, which fueled the largest demonstrations.
