The Minister of Trade, Dr. Alaa Al-Jubouri, announced, on Wednesday, the launch of the fifth ration of the food basket, as of next Sunday, in Baghdad and the provinces.
In a statement received by Mawazine News, the ministry called on food agents to “review the sales centers belonging to the General Company for Foodstuff Trade in all governorates of the country for the purpose of cutting citizens’ quotas,” according to the cutting schedules.
The statement indicated that the General Company for Foodstuff Trading had completed its preparations to launch the fifth quota after receiving the materials received for the account of the food basket in the company's stores, which will be distributed to all the Iraqi people who are covered by the ration card system and according to the marketing plan it prepared for that, starting from the poorest areas The rest of the regions follow.
The ministry statement confirmed that citizens will be equipped with materials at once and at the same time without delay or shortage of any material.
In the same context, the General Manager of the Foodstuff Company, Lama Al-Mousa, explained that her company will sell flour (Das) and French milk (Duvilac) in a direct selling manner to citizens and at competitive prices through sales centers in Baghdad and the governorates in conjunction with the start of the cutting process for the fifth meal.
