Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Commerce announced the readiness of the food basket for the month of Ramadan, while setting a date for its distribution.
"The food basket is ready for the month of Ramadan, and it will be launched five days before the beginning of the holy month," said the General Manager of the General Company for Foodstuff Trade, Lama Hashim Al-Moussawi, in a statement to the official agency, followed by "NAS".
She added, "The items of the food basket are the same as those distributed monthly, except that there are proposals to add some items to it, such as eggs and chicken."
And she stressed, "We need the approvals of the Prime Minister to add these materials," explaining that "the food basket has contributed greatly to maintaining food prices."
