Shafaq News/ The total sales of the Central Bank of Iraq, on Sunday, from foreign remittances amounted to more than 244 million dollars in the currency auction.
Shafak News Agency correspondent stated that the Central Bank sold today, during its auction to buy and sell US dollars, 264 million and 1561 US dollars, covering it at a base exchange rate of 1460 dinars per dollar.
He added that 91% of these sales went to enhance balances abroad in the form of remittances and credits, which amounted to 244 million and 1561 dollars, while the rest went in the form of cash sales amounting to 20 million dollars.
Our correspondent indicated that 33 banks have fulfilled requests to enhance balances abroad, and 12 banks have responded to cash requests, in addition to 120 mediation companies.
