In a move that could constitute a new provocation to the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, and ignore his call for the largest unified prayer to be held by his supporters next Friday, the leader of "Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq" Qais al-Khazali announced that the withdrawal of the Sadrist movement from the political process will accelerate the formation of the next federal government in Iraq.
At a time when al-Sadr is preparing for the largest unified prayer held by his supporters next Friday in order to show the strength of the Sadrist movement in the street, Khazali stressed during the Eid prayer sermon yesterday (Sunday) for the Shiites that “about 9 months ago after the elections, the situation became halted and developments occurred, the most important of which were The withdrawal of the Sadrist bloc from the political process, which generated a new horizon to break the blockage and form the new government. He added that «there is no delay in forming a government because Parliament is in a legislative recess, and there is a session that is supposed to take place after Eid, and it will be clear whether there is a delay or not». Khazali continued, “We are working to ensure that the formation of the government does not become more disrupted, and there is a real opportunity to form it,” noting that “the situation requires not to cause chaos in Iraq, a country that produces 4 million barrels of oil, and the messages from the countries of the region and the major countries are clear in forming A national unity government. Khazali explained that there are factors that will lead to the success of the next government, including financial abundance and high oil prices.

While disputes engulfed the Shiite “coordinating framework” within the house regarding the position of prime minister and the lack of any prospect for the possibility of resolving it during the post-Eid period, Khazali ignored this challenge, which has been facing the coordination framework for more than eight months, considering that the only challenge facing the formation of the government “It is the choice of the president of the republic” in light of the dispute within the Kurdish house between the two main parties “the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.” He said that «the dispute between the Kurdish political forces is deeper than the dispute between the Shiite forces».
And on whether the Shiites prefer one party at the expense of another regarding the presidential candidate, Khazali explained that “the coordination framework with the meeting of Kurdish political forces and their agreement on the issue of the presidency of the republic,” saying that “there are two solutions: the first is to agree on one person, and whoever is from They'll agree, we don't have a problem. And second, if this does not happen, we hope that they will agree on a method and mechanism for presenting the candidates, and whoever wins the vote in Parliament will take the presidency.” Regarding the dispute within the Shiite house over the position of prime minister, Khazali said that “the choice of the prime minister is not a big issue, as there is agreement on his choice among the forces of the coordination framework, and they are at a level of full awareness in this regard.” He pointed out that "there is no real problem in resolving the prime minister within the coordination framework, but there are differences within the framework, but they do not rise to be a real problem."
In a related context, the head of the State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, stressed that it is not correct for all political forces and parties to participate in the next federal government, and that it is necessary that there be opposition within the Iraqi parliament. During the Eid prayer sermon on Sunday, Al-Hakim called for supporting and strengthening the positive parliamentary opposition, saying: “The parliamentary system must be strengthened from within the parliament itself, by strengthening confidence through two tracks, one of which adopts the formation of the government and the other that monitors and evaluates its work.” Al-Hakim added that «it is not correct for everyone to participate in the government, and there must be a parliamentary body supporting the government and another monitoring it, otherwise we will not find a solution to the political process in Iraq».
Like Khazali, Al-Hakim called for "accelerating the formation of a balanced, national service government in line with the magnitude of the challenges surrounding Iraq, most notably the economic, environmental and social challenges." While Khazali downplayed the importance of the Sadrist bloc’s withdrawal from parliament, considering it a key to resolving the political blockage, al-Hakim sees the withdrawal of the Sadrist bloc as a challenge facing the next government, saying that “the Sadrists’ withdrawal does not mean their exit from the political scene, as they represent a large segment of our people and have always They had service and political connections, and we had hoped that brother Mr. Sadr would wait for his final decision because the country is going through a critical and sensitive period.” And regarding the presidency, Al-Hakim called on the Kurds to “accelerate the resolution of the position of the President of the Republic, as this position concerns all Iraqis and not only the Kurdish brothers.” He considered that this position is "greater than the entitlement of one component, but rather it is for all components of the country, and it is a guarantee for the unity of Iraqis and the safety valve for Iraq and the constitution."
While Al-Hakim said that there are positive elements in the caretaker government headed by the current Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and should build on it, Khazali announced his rejection of its survival, saying: “There is no real problem within the Shiite framework in deciding the name of the candidate for prime minister because all parties and forces of the Shiite framework reject altogether and in detail. The caretaker government will remain because it is a government that lacks powers, and work must be done to form a government with full powers.”
