The Ministry of Electricity spoke of new justifications for declining processing hours by not providing the amounts allocated to pay dues for Iranian gas.
Ministry spokesman Ahmed Moussa said, "The hours of supplying citizens with electricity depend on a number of factors, the most important of which is the lack of approval of the budget law."
Moussa added, "The second factor is the size of slums and the encroachment on agricultural lands and their transformation into residential cities, which put additional loads on the network without studying."
He pointed out that "the third factor is that some governorates exceeded their approved quotas, high temperatures, an increase in consumption, and limiting the release of gas that operates stations."
