    The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Al-Ghazi, announced today, Sunday, that the General Secretariat is studying the financing of the suspended train project and the possibility of including it in the budget law.
    The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers said in a statement, "The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Naim Al-Ghazi, received the Ambassador of the French Republic in Baghdad, Eric Chevalier, and a representative of Alstom Company."
    Al-Ghazi stressed that "the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers is studying the issue of financing the suspended train project in coordination with the ministries of finance and planning, to bypass any legal obstacles facing the financing process, and the possibility of including it within the general budget law."
    Al-Ghazi pointed out that "the Iraqi government has a broader and more comprehensive vision by expanding the horizons of cooperation between the two countries' governments and peoples, and strengthening bilateral relations, which will be greatly reflected in the development of economic and commercial work between the two countries."
    For his part, the French ambassador expressed the desire of "Alstom and its partner, the Korean company Hyundai, to work on the implementation of the project," welcoming "the Iraqi government's assurances and commitment to the contract signed with the French government on the construction of the suspended train project in 2020".
    He pointed to "the French government's keenness to deepen bilateral relations between the two countries and work to strengthen them in all fields."
