On Thursday (October 13, 2022), the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Rashid, commissioned Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani to form the new Iraqi government. But several obstacles faced the latter, represented by the ongoing conflicts between the political blocs over ministerial positions, especially with regard to sovereignty.
Member of Parliament, Rafiq Al-Salihi, told Alsumaria News, today, Tuesday, that "Al-Sudani began putting the final touches on his government formation," noting that "the president-designate decided his cabinet by 80%."
Al-Salihi added, "Al-Sudani submitted a request to the House of Representatives for the purpose of holding a session of granting confidence and voting on his cabinet formation at the end of this week," expecting that "next Thursday will be the date of the decisive session."
There are only 19 days left before the President-designate; In order to present his governmental cabinet to the House of Representatives for the purpose of giving it the required confidence by voting on the names of the ministers and the ministerial platform by an absolute majority of the number of members of Parliament.

The Prime Minister-designate, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, submitted a request to the House of Representatives to hold a session of “granting confidence” at the end of this week.
