Representative Agriculture: We have made recommendations to the Public Prosecutor's Office regarding Russian fertilizer

Yesterday, Monday, the Parliamentary Agriculture Committee revealed the details of the investigation into the Russian fertilizer (dab), which was suspected of being a carcinogen, confirming that the issue will be discussed in today's parliament session.
The head of the committee, Representative Thaer Makhaif, said in an exclusive interview with (Al-Mada) that “the issue of the carcinogenic fertilizer Dab took several curves.”
Makhaif indicated that "the concerned authorities hosted the discussion of the issue, and recommendations were submitted to the Presidency of the House of Representatives, the Public Prosecutor and the judiciary in this regard."
He added that "the committee formed to follow up the case did not meet even because the Presidency of the Council was not instructed to convene a special session in this regard," noting that "the House of Representatives will discuss the results of the investigation in today's session, Tuesday."
He added, "The investigation has not been completed until now, and the committee in charge of the matter has not held a meeting to follow up on the matter."
And he continued, “We sent a letter to the Supreme Judicial Council regarding the contract of the Ministry of Agriculture to purchase 300,000 tons of Russian-made Dab fertilizer.”
"The first meal arrived via Turkey, estimated at 50,000 tons, and was distributed to the stores of the General Company for Agricultural Supplies," Makhaif said.
And he confirmed, “There is information that this fertilizer is highly radioactive and will cause a major disaster in the country if it is distributed to farmers and farmers.”
And he added, "We asked the Supreme Judicial Council earlier to stop the contract, reserve the quantities in the warehouses, and conduct an urgent and transparent investigation on the validity of this material for use, provided that the examination is carried out by the official government agencies."
He explained, "This issue appeared at the beginning through social networking sites, and we contacted the parties that talked about the presence of radiation in the fertilizer, and expressed their confidence in the information they provided."
Al-Jubouri revealed, "a decision to host three general managers who represent sectoral bodies responsible for the issue, and they follow the ministries of agriculture, environment and industry."
And he stressed, "The issue until now is still in the circle of suspicions, and we want to ascertain the truth of the accusations, whether they are true or false."
Al-Jubouri noted, "If these accusations were true, we would be facing serious crimes represented in the mass killing of the Iraqi people."
And he added, "It is important for us to stop distributing this substance until we verify its validity, and according to what we have reached, these quantities are not distributed until now."
Al-Jubouri went on to say, "This article, according to allegations, contains radiation that threatens those who deal with it with cancerous diseases, and the committee is determined to hold each negligent accountable."
