A delegation from the US Congress assures Nechirvan Barzani of Washington's continued support for the Kurdistan Region

Shafaq News/ A delegation from the US Congress confirmed to the President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, on Saturday, the continued support of the United States to the Kurdistan Region.
This came during Barzani's meeting with a delegation from the US Congress headed by Senator Lindsey Graham and the membership of a number of senators from the Democratic and Republican parties, according to a statement received by Shafaq News agency.
The two sides talked about "the relationship of the United States with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region."
The US Congress delegation affirmed the continued support of the United States to the Kurdistan Region. The two sides agreed on "the importance of the role and position of Iraq to maintain the security and stability of the region and confront the dangers of ISIS."
The statement indicated that "the political and economic situation in Iraq, the internal situation in the Kurdistan Region, and the issue of stability in the Middle East were other axes during the meeting, in addition to the latest developments in Syria in particular and the region in general."
The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, arrived in Germany on Friday after an official invitation to attend the fifty-ninth annual Munich Security Conference.
Barzani, along with heads and leaders of states, including Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, will participate in meetings and discussions on global affairs, including international security and stability and the current challenges facing the world.
During the three-day conference, which will be held from February 17 to 19, 2023, President Barzani will hold several meetings with a number of leaders and officials from around the world.
