[size=45]The Kurdish negotiating delegation continues its visit to the capital, Baghdad, regarding settling the share of the Kurdistan region in the 2023 budget and the oil and gas law.[/size]
[size=45]Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani had made it clear in a symposium he held on the sidelines of his participation in the 59th Munich Security Conference: “We have come a long way in overcoming obstacles between Baghdad and Erbil, and we will finish this year the legislation of the oil and gas law.”[/size]
[size=45]"The differences between the political blocs and the lack of compatibility between them is the main reason for delaying the adoption of the oil and gas law," says Susan Mansour, a representative of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.[/size]
[size=45]Mansour added, "The dispute between Baghdad and Erbil caused an economic crisis for the Kurdish citizen," calling on the Kurdish negotiating delegation to "end the crisis with Baghdad through constitutional means."[/size]
[size=45]And stressed, "the need to pass the oil and gas law as soon as possible to end the dispute between the two parties over the right of each party to dispose of oil and gas."[/size]
[size=45]In turn, a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Wafaa Muhammad, says, "The Kurdish delegation negotiating with the central government has been present since yesterday, Sunday, in the capital, Baghdad."[/size]
[size=45]He added, "The delegation held, on Sunday, a meeting with the Ministry of Oil, and it was agreed to form committees from the two parties to follow up on the legislation of the oil and gas law, which is the most important paragraph between the two delegations."[/size]
[size=45]Muhammad explained, "The visits of the Kurdish side to Baghdad will continue until the end of the time period specified for the oil and gas law and sending it to the House of Representatives."[/size]
[size=45]He pointed out, "The Kurdish negotiating delegation agreed with the central government to include a share of 14% of the budget for the Kurdistan region."[/size]
[size=45]It is noteworthy that the outstanding files between Baghdad and Erbil are the most prominent problems faced by the successive Iraqi governments, and among the most important of these files are the salaries of employees of the Kurdistan region, security coordination in the disputed areas, and the agreement on a mechanism for exporting oil from the fields of the region.[/size]
