Shafaq News/ The head of the Investment Authority in the Kurdistan Region, Muhammad Shukri, confirmed on Thursday that there are no projects so bad that they are exposed to earthquake risks.
Shukri told Shafaq News agency; While chairing a meeting of the owners of projects in the region, he said, "The Kurdistan Region is one of the medium regions in terms of being affected by earthquake damage, but there are measures that must be taken, and today we held a meeting with investors who own projects and residential buildings in the city of Erbil, and there are new measures that will be taken regarding old projects and new projects." Also, according to international standards, these projects will be subject to scrutiny.

He added, "The Investment Authority began to take many measures two months ago, that is, before the devastating earthquakes occurred in Turkey and Syria," noting that "the procedures will be more severe regarding housing projects for the safety of citizens."
Shoukry confirmed that "there are committees that have been formed, and so far there are no projects that have major problems in this regard, and there are small problems in some projects that will be resolved," noting that "the projects that will be established will be subject to the new procedures."
