Sudani and the World Bank delegation discuss ways of joint cooperation

Yesterday, Monday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani discussed with the World Bank delegation ways of joint cooperation and support for the government's plans, while stressing the importance of international efforts supporting Iraq in implementing its government program.
A statement from his office stated that "the Prime Minister received the Regional Director for the Mashreq Countries at the World Bank, Jean-Christophe Carré, and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, they discussed various aspects of cooperation between Iraq and the World Bank, ways to support the growing indicators of the Iraqi economy, and government efforts in this regard." As well as emphasizing cooperation in the field of banking reform adopted by the government.
He pointed out that "the meeting touched on opportunities for financial cooperation in supporting social protection programs that have witnessed a comprehensive expansion, as well as areas of supporting the transport sector in Iraq, and government plans to expand its infrastructure."
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister revealed that Iraq is seeking more cooperation with UNESCO in various files.
Another statement stated that "Al-Sudani received the Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Audrey Azoulay, and her accompanying delegation."
Al-Sudani appreciated, according to the statement, "the organization's efforts and initiatives in Iraq, in continuation of what was discussed with Azoulay during the prime minister's recent visit to Paris."
He expressed "Iraq's aspiration to enhance the international organization's support for its efforts in the field of recovering stolen Iraqi antiquities," stressing "his high assessment of the organization's efforts to include many Iraqi tangible and natural heritage files in the World Heritage List."
Al-Sudani pointed out that "Iraq is seeking more cooperation with UNESCO in various files."
For her part, Azoulay affirmed the international organization's openness to all forms of cultural, scientific and heritage cooperation with Iraq, pointing to the desire to provide support in the matter of updating curricula and making them parallel to international standards.
In addition, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of international efforts in support of Iraq in implementing its government program.
The statement indicated that "Al-Sudani received the delegation of the European Parliament, and during the meeting they reviewed the overall Iraqi-European relations, and ways of developing them in various aspects of joint cooperation, and discussed mechanisms to enhance Iraq's capabilities in facing economic challenges and the effects of climate change."
And the Prime Minister added, according to the statement, "Iraq's approach is to follow a balanced policy in international relations," appreciating "the European Union's positions towards Iraq at different stages."
He pointed to "the importance of international efforts supporting Iraq in implementing its governmental program, and providing assistance in the field of recovering looted funds and those wanted by the Iraqi judiciary."
In turn, the members of the European delegation affirmed "their support and support of their countries for the Iraqi efforts in the field of reform."
