Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Planning clarified the position on imported cosmetics sold on social media, while noting that they are subject to examination by the Central Agency for Standardization and Quality Control in two stages.
"The hair and skin products that enter through the official border crossings and are announced on social media are subject to examination in two stages," said the ministry's spokesman, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi.
He added, "The teams of the Central Agency for Standardization and Quality Control undertake the process of examining these products as a first stage, after which the conformity certificate is issued for them in order for them to be approved, for trading in the markets."
And he pointed out, "In the second stage, the goods and merchandise are followed up in the local markets through the central apparatus teams, as they withdraw certain models of goods to examine them and ensure their safety and conformity with the Iraqi specifications set," pointing out, "In the event that the conditions are not met in the goods." It will be confiscated according to legal procedures.”
