Immigration intensifies its efforts to implement the plan to support displaced women and returnees

The Ministry of Migration and Displacement intensified its efforts to implement plan (1325) under the title (Women...Security and Peace) to protect displaced and returning women from physical violence, discrimination, and conflict vulnerability, and to assist them in decision-making.
The Minister of Migration and Displacement, Evan Faiq Jabro, told Al-Sabah that the ministry is determined to support the displaced and returning women in various ways through the implementation of Plan (1325) called (Women... Security and Peace).
She added that the plan is one of the important official and legal documents issued by the United Nations Security Council for the year 2000, and aims to involve women in preventing wars, decision-making, protection from conflicts, and others.
She indicated that the Ministry is working to contribute effectively to the implementation of the plan, which represents a legal and material framework for the protection of women within the categories of the Ministry's care from conflicts and the call for gender integration and special protection for them.
Jabro explained that the most important paragraphs covered by the plan are assistance to displaced and returning women in the reconstruction phase, pointing to coordination with government agencies, international and local organizations, ministries and non-ministry agencies to implement the plan's programmes.
