Earth News/ Today, Saturday, economist Nabil Al-Marsoumi revealed a “strange” situation in the financial accounts.
Al-Marsoumi stated, in a clarification seen by Earth News, that “the actual deficit in non-oil revenues achieved until February 2023, non-oil revenues estimated in the 2023 budget = 17 trillion dinars, and non-oil revenues estimated until February 2023 = 2.833 trillion dinars.”
He added, "Non-oil revenues achieved until February 2023 = - 1.539 trillion dinars," noting that "the actual deficit of non-oil revenues until February 2023 = 4.372 trillion dinars."
And he stated, “This is a strange case in the state’s financial accounts that the Ministry of Finance publishes on its website, and the reason for non-oil revenues to be negative may be that the Ministry of Finance purchases special drawing rights, or to pay tax secretariat sums, or for another reason that only those well-established in public finance know.” .”
