Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani received, on Monday evening, a delegation of businessmen and investors in the UAE headed by the President of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Abdullah Mohammed Al Mazrouei.
Al-Sudani stressed, according to a statement by his office, that "the visit of the guest delegation to the capital, Baghdad, reflects the distinguished relationship between the two countries, and the desire to open more prospects for joint economic cooperation."
And he indicated, "Iraq has ambitious investment opportunities, and it is poised for a qualitative economic leap that would promote sustainable development and fully achieve its goals," referring to "the large investments made in Iraq in the fields of energy and petrochemicals."
He stressed that "the government has a clear executive program, and it is serious about confronting bureaucracy and providing all necessary facilities in order to create a successful investment environment."
For his part, the Emirati delegation expressed "its great aspiration to invest in Iraq, and high coordination with government institutions and the Iraqi private sector, in order to build meaningful investment partnerships that serve the two countries and the interests of their peoples."
